Fleet Management Overview: Fleet management is the management and administration of an organisation’s vehicle fleet. Fleet management includes motor vehicles such as cars, vans and heavy goods vehicles. Fleet management encompasses a range of client and driver services, such as vehicle financing, vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair, driver management, risk management, fuel management, vehicle telematics and health and safety management. Fleet management allows organisations that rely on transportation in their business to reduce the costs, improve the efficiency and minimise the risks associated with running their vehicle fleet. The functions associated with fleet management can be dealt with by an outsourced fleet management provider or an in-house fleet management department or a combination of the two in partnership with each other.
